It all started with a program called Forgotten Faces - Groups of estheticians, cosmetologists, etc... were sent to local nursing homes and such to provide spa and salon services for free to the elderly. Many of these people couldn't get out to seek these services due to ambulatory constraints and/or they couldn't afford it. What amazed us was some of these people were rarley even visited by their children and were in essence forgotten. They have a right to dignity and services like these and we still do this today. Please if you have extra time go and visit some of the residents at a local nursing home. If you don't have a nursing home near you help others that are less fortunate than you. Volunteer with a local charity even if for a few hours a month. They will appreciate it more than you know and you will feel so much better for it!
